There are 2 different versions of the bug and that's one with nothing but airblasts and one with airblasts and flame and the only real way to choose is a script I think..I guess it just comes down to each persons opinion. | 1) "Coded Hacks" are for the most part, 3rd party entities which embed themselves so they can be used for all malicious purposes.
"Exploits" are inherent bugs/glitches that developers have yet to iron out (or discover) that effect game play (depending on the game).
The two are not the same.
And yes I agree the non-stop bonk is "extreme" but last time I saw it, he timed out and the other team farmed ubers off him and nearly rolled us. It was down right poetic.
2) Being able to see were the flames are going/heading is essential for avoiding it for all classes. Heavies can back up away from it, Soldies/Demos know the right time to fight or flight scouts can hop around it, pyros can circle avoiding it pouring out their own flames, and lonely medics/engies/spys/snipers know when its best to kiss their ass before it gets cooked to the pyro's liking, mmmm medium-rare.

I'm pretty sure no one, except for dodgeball regulars, understands that this is a completely harmless glitch in regards to more standard play, like in the crazy, insanity and death/pancakes house servers. I still protest it being used in dodgeball, because of the visual blur being a hindrance when trying to play competitive speed dodgeball, but, other than that, I can't see why you guys are being so convictive. I'm almost moved to the point of championing Stephanie's cause, but that would go against my credo so far. I'll just say that it's not as big a deal as everyone is making of it. |

I once apologized to Chronopolis for building a SG behind the blu gate on Dustbowl1.
In any case, this glitch IS pretty much harmless on the Dodgeball servers, because the flames don't hurt your enemies. Now, I haven't used it on any other server, WHERE FLAMES HURT, but if anybody knew if the INVISIBLE FLAMES HURT YOU, that would be indicative of an exploit. Plain and simple. Moreover, since YOU CAN'T SEE THE FLAMES when YOU FLAME PEOPLE, you have an advantage that other Pyros DON'T HAVE. Stephanie has said a few posts back that theres two versions, one that is simple airblast glitch, and another that is both blasts and flames.
About the convictive part... We all dont' want people put on temp-ban for something small like this. Like it or not, this could VERY WELL BE AN EXPLOIT, WHICH AREN'T ALLOWED. Congrats on figuring this out, but if this is an exploit elsewhere keep it on the dodgeball servers. |

| | Re: Interesting pyro visual glitch people were wanting to see. Well, Luigi, your obnoxious use of underlining and capitals certainly isn't very swaying. I might have actually gained something from that post if you'd cared to compose it more tactfully. I think you also misinterpreted my post, which is maybe the cause of your precipitous reaction. I'm aware that there are two forms of the glitch, and I've already explicitly stated which I am addressing, in the interest of dodgeball. Perhaps I've misinterpreted your own post, but it still was rude to quickly reprimand without stable ground under your convictions. I hope we come to an understanding with this, for I don't wish to be overly argumentative if I can help it. |

1: Exploits aren't allowed.
2: This could very well be an exploit.
3: Temp-bans for dumb situations like this is... just dumb.
Now, I don't see anything wrong with my posts. Stop forging me a condescending position with your wordy word-ness. I'm not trying to "sway" you, I'm telling you and whoever this could be an exploit, end of story! Hah, my bad Oranjuz. You'll need to explain to me later what a Jerkstore is lol. FULL DETAIL |

| | Re: Interesting pyro visual glitch people were wanting to see. Thank you. That was much more frank and straightforward. I also apologize for my admittedly cocky verbosity, which was intended to cause the effect you described. It's an inflammatory technique I use when I want to make a point.
Speaking plainly, I agree on the worthlessness of temp-bans, but something's probably going to be done eventually, and it might be a long or little time coming, I reckon. The whole situation kind of splits with the two different modes of play (dodgeball and the standard cp/arena/pl gameplay), but judging by that omnipotent exploit rule you mentioned, Luigi, it would probably just be global. No point in giving lenience in one area while restricting the other I suppose. I don't retract my arguments for the dodgeball aspect, but in the long run, I guess everyone will be better off with both versions of it gone forever. Potentially harmless, potentially unfairly advantageous, I guess it does little to debate any more (especially on my part), and just let the cold, hard facts settle in, and let our overlords take due action. |

| | Re: Interesting pyro visual glitch people were wanting to see. I think I'll chime and and say that it would simply be a good idea to take down the instructions Steph and for anyone reading this to simply stop using it on our servers. Since this is not a clear cut issue, we'll just discuss it to death without any action and the situation will get inflamed. Much easier if we all just agree to stop using it before it gets out of hand.
Steph - also please stop advertising this thread while ingame.
