Donator Hat Problem?

Has anyone else had the problem where hats wouldn't spawn on your head after you've died?
Also, how do I bind a hat to a key, I've tried bind key "hat awesome" and bind key "say hat awesome" and bind key +"hat awesome"; none of them work.

Its bind "KEY" "hat WHATEVER HAT YOU WANT"

Actually, you're BOTH doing it wrong.

In:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\<STEAMID>\team fortress 2\tf\cfg\autoexec.cfg

Add:
alias player_onspawn "hat WHATEVER HAT YOU WANT"

You'll no longer have to type it ever again. Cheers!
