Terraria, the game that I've always wished Minecraft was

So, there's this game, Terraria. It's sort of like Minecraft, but 2D, and way better. Here's a trailer:

    YouTube - Terraria Gameplay Trailer

It's currently in alpha and one of the devs said they're aiming for a final release in the next 2 months or so. Personally, I already plan to buy it. I think the 2D perspective works better for a game like this. Plus, picks and stuff don't deteriorate after use - and that's as good of a selling point as any.

Looks like Final Fantasycraft...FF5 looking chars, but still neat

Edit: In fact alot of those sprites look ripped from FF4 and 5...lol

Looks really cool, but it only covers a certain aspect of minecraft, exploring. For me, and probably a lot of the ppl on our minecraft server, I'm more of a builder. And I dont see much building going on in that game. Still looks really cool tho.

YouTube - Let's Play Terraria Pt. 1 "Hello World"

An LP done by the developers or so it says, I always prefer actual gameplay vids to "use the best footage" trailers, gives you a better sense of how you'll actually see it

The irony is unlike minecraft it'll have working multiplayer right off the bat haha

It doesnt appeal to my creative building side, but that looks really fun to play with a group of people.

Pretty much yeah, it's more action adventure with building on the side vs Minecraft's exploration with a side of adventure; I do like the fact that you don't drop all your shit when you die though(and judging by spawn rates you WILL die lol)

That video is part of a huge playlist btw, I'm on part 9 atm lol

Same for me Tek...considered MC but couldn't get into it. This looks like it has a little more action that I can get into. Multiplayer looks like it has a lot of potential.
