Hahaha, I really am, but I'm not spending $50 on it so I'm either trying to do the 4-pack or waiting for a deal, and even then I dont know if I'll ever even feel like doing the subscription. I have enough on my plate for now that I can push it aside but I just wanted to make this thread to see if anyone was interested at all in the 4-pack.

I realize I'm bumping old threads right now but I wanted to let you guys know theres a trial up right now for GA that lets you go up to level 15 with a few of the full game features up to that point. I'm really impressed with this game, I'm hoping for a sale but even if there isn't, in my opinion, the game is worth $40. I suggest you guys check out the free trial, the pve aspect is pretty boring at lower levels (idk if it changes at higher levels) but I really love the pvp which you can start pretty much immediately when you play the game.

There's a free unlimited trial now that just caps you at a certain level. I still definitely recommend giving it a try, I was just never able to get myself to enjoy it.

Yeah hounddawg is right, theres a huge update coming up within the month thats supposed to completely revamp the game and bring a lot of appeal back to it. The free trial is definitely worth picking up while its available.

How was the huge update? Did it improve the game? I just noticed that they went subscription free as of yesterday (HZ-Global Agenda Now Subscription Free) and the game is on sale in Steam. Soooooo..... guess I'm going to first give the free trial a try and then purchase it from Steam before July 5th if it turns out better than it's initial release.

Considering its 33% off and they're ditching the subscription fee altogether, I'm considering it. Gonna wait and see if it gets a daily deal though.

Installed and played the trial tonight. It's not too bad. I still wouldn't buy it if it were $40 with a monthly sub. But, only $27 with no monthly.... going to pick it up.

It's interesting how some features are straight up from PlanetSide.... like whole implants.... and having to go to a station to assign your skill points. At least we don't have to wait 24 hours every time we remove a point... it's a free wipe. A virtual arena to test weapons and such.

Everyone having jetpacks is rather nice and a touch of Tribes, just better implemented. Teamwork is definitely encouraged with the mission bonus system. I can see how this upcoming expansion, Sandstorm, is really going to improve the gameplay.

The one major drawback to MMOs these days, is the general chat channels are plagued with MMO trolls that do nothing but constantly bring up topics about other MMOs. Especially WoW.... I don't give a shit about WoW while I'm playing other MMOs. If I want to discuss WoW, I'll renew my sub there.

Anyway, the crafting and AH is extremely simple in GA. Healing takes a bit more skill as everything is target based (like in TF2). Every now and then I get some kid that will eat a few rockets and whine about heals.... then take damage immediately upon returning to the frontline... only to hide around a box out of my healing LoS.... to whine about my heals more.

Unfortunately, like how you can't fly in the major cities in Aion, you can't use your jetpack in the Dome cities either. I wish they did, since it would make traveling around a lot more efficient.

Overall, for $27... I can definitely get that much enjoyment out of it.

Just going to say.... playing a medic is a lot harder than in TF2. TF2 is extremely forgiving on teammate selection. They just need to be in LoS of your view really..... I mean, very little aiming required to get a heal off. In GA, you really have to target the players directly and if they move behind you or out of LoS.... the heal target is broken. So, yes, very challenging to play medic in GA.

Recon looks cool, although they're pretty weak and die often. Assault is for those that enjoy playing heavy or soldier in TF2. They're all about tanking and brute damage. Engineer is a really neat class though. A lot of utility... healing box, various turrets, shield walls, etc... I've even seen teleporters used in PvP instances. Imagine that... they even have a Payload type of PvP instance. lol

Unfortunately, my PvP battles are going to be limited until I can upgrade my graphics card. It's a bit too laggy with everything going on.... not a good thing for when you're the only medic on your team.

Im still not sure if its the demo i just downloaded or the free trial, but either way my first impression was oh look FPS robotron, how dull. and 10,000 credits for some better trousers... nah dont think im gonna be playing it much. MMOs just not my thing I guess.

Well considering WoW is pretty much the "biggest" MMO you are likely to always hear about it in other MMO games.
