| | Re: RPGs and so on.. Yeah, it's called Final Fantasy VI if you're a weeaboo (or if you live in Asia, either or). But yeah...I remember spending close to 50+ hours grinding a small 4x4 patch of forest where rare dinosaurs would spawn for huge xp and gold rewards.
And then I bought a Game Genie, and rendered all my tedious grinding unless in about 30 seconds and one battle. Oh god...Sabin with two Genji Gloves and Bum Rush blitz ability. It's almost as classic as watching Typoon being casted 8 times with W-Summon and a Quadra Magic lol

Final Fantasy 9 also had a great Soundtrack, the Iifa tree music scares the crap out of me everytime i hear it. i think the reason why people didnt take to it as much as they did 7 and 8 is because Square decided to go back to the original formula of fixed classes. not like 7 where anyone could play as your White Mage and anyone can be your damage dealer. i was a little put off by the graphics of FF9 i had never seen so many pixels crammed into one character but it grew on me |

| | Re: RPGs and so on.. I was actually waiting for that fixed classes stuff too, I think the endgame of FFX was pretty much the epitome of what I didn't like, regarding classes. (Everyone ended up the same at the end)
However, the graphics really put me off. Eiko, Vivi, Zidane, Garnet... They all looked like kids. Like, kids kids. Like, how the heck did they go from emo Squall (I liked his design, not the emoness) to kids kids. Like, they could pass for 8-10 year olds, not 17 or however old they were. I found I couldn't relate without thinking about it all the time. I understand the change made between games.
Its another pipe-dream or sorts, where FFIX would be remade with more mature looking characters. |

| | Re: RPGs and so on.. see what didnt put me off too much about Final Fantasy 10 wasnt that all the characters ended up the same but that after Yuna gets her Celestial Weapon its all over, every fight you get into with Yuna gives her a crap load of AP and then you start thinking "hey wouldnt it be cool to take her down Lulu's path" and then you do and now Yuna has double as much Magic points and a huge list of Black Magic Spells and whats this? DOUBLECAST! NOW I CAN DOUBLE CAST ULTIMA! *game over* you get to the point that Aeon Overdrives dont matter anymore cuz Yuna is so strong that a piss weak flick from one of ifrit's puebs deals 99,999 damage |

oh btw Tales of Eternia on the PSP is great....long long storyline, good combat fights, some of them a bit 'too challenging' if you don't grind a bit before hand.

| | Re: RPGs and so on.. FF7:CC was fun, but I liked it for it's immersion, not for the gameplay. Combat is very boring button mashing, very little is involved until later fights (which then, it's relatively involved, but still not much). I kind of wish they would go a little less extreme with combat styles. theres good ways to do action RPG's, and then there's bad ways

I think he just tucked it away behind his skirt.
Also, i never finished 8, meant to but never did, ill have to pick it up again. After another run through
of Suikoden 2 of course
