Oh well if you die in pvp battle you lose pvp rank, yes.

I've gotten pretty much everything figured out except, how do you fight with or against other players?

Also, how do you do this gathering and mining?

To gather you just goto Actions --> Gather

To fight other players get to like level 4 and travel to Aleas then PvP will be under the action menu

Oh, thanks. Now how do you group with other players?

I'm not sure but I think you can either do it through your guild by setting times or you can just goto the dungeon and if there's players there you'll group automatically or you'll group with NPCs. Search on the forums.

Here's a tip for n00bs...

When you raid the rat sewer dungeon and get all the rat hair and rat skin, don't sell them for petty cash. Instead, visit the Craft shop in the Market of Inachis once you reach lvl 3. Use the hair and skin to craft a Rat Cloak (or several) which will grant 6 Armor (against melee) AND 4 Warding (against magic). You can use this charm to replace the worn leather chest you start with.

OK, here are the basics I've learned so far...

Dungeon resets are once every 12 hours.
Movement and Working your job are allowed once daily.
Animal races are ??? (I think once every 6 or 8 hours - not sure)


So...
1) Enter every animal race every time, this will build 2 skills: (ANY animal, including the 'Bloodsucking Flea' you get free in the sewer dungeon - who wins appears completely random)
a) Animal Friendship every race
b) Animal Training if you actually win
Do this until both of those skills are maxed out and you get the bonuses (I'm so close)

2) Fight in a dungeon in the city you are currently located. When the reset for moves come around, the dungeon is also reset, so do it again BEFORE you move to another city... Then do the dungeon in that city after you move. This means instead of 2 dungeons a day, you can do 3!

3) Frequently check your equipment and adjust your gear so you can get the best results from damage and protections. You usually pick up new gear in dungeons so be sure to check storage frequently.

4) Also with the gear.... Make sure you adjust it not just for damage, but for skill building as well. If you've already maxed out sword, replace all your swords in your deck (that you can) with different weapon types. You build no skill when it's already maxed, so why not diversify!



For the skill Mentoring, you get points every time an apprentice levels - that's it. You get nothing else from apprentices. So, having said that, my GrooTheWanderer character now has 2 apprentices so I'm all set with him.

Oh I've never done animal racing. I'll check it out. I'm so close to max on my mentoring skill, i'm at like 87/100 so level a few more times
