I never played III or even know anything about it but I've had II for quite some time now. IV seems to bring back the fun of II for sure. There still isn't much animated story but the most so far. I don't know if I'd say its enough to shell out the full price for but if you see it in a Gamestop or something for anything lower than shelf price its worth it. Plenty of unlocks and the Tower is an awesome game mode. I plan on toying with the character creation when I get time.

Yoda's supposed to be extremely hard to defeat because of his size & speed. Even that apprentice character is apparently really annoying to battle. Otherwise, yeah I'm getting the game -- looks too good to pass up & I'd like a break from the SSBB fighting format. |

If you are using a larger character you'll have a hard time hitting him. The worst part is trying to hit him with those power moves. His dash hit has far too much knockback too.
Recap: He is hard to hit because he is short but can knock you around because he is Yoda.
No idea what Vader is like since he is in the PS3 version.

Fun game, if you're into fighters, but like Sobe said, questionable if it's actually worth the price. |

| | Re: Soul Calibur IV I just picked this up for 360 today. 54 dollars @ Costco.
I really like it so far, its graphics are stunning.
The gameplay is stunning.
Yoda is unfair and very out-of-place. Vader will be DLC for Xbox and Yoda will be same for PS3 come december. Tower mode is really fun but hard o.o;
Online players are full of immature complainers who call everything "cheap" Heck, arguably a lot of people play very unfair online (Someone uses same attack on me 10+ times in a position on the map where I was unable to do anything about it, eventually landing me a ringout and I lost, yay.)
Story mode is literally 10 minutes long, a bit dissapointing but kinda neat. I have too many friends playing this for me to just wait for price to go down, so I ended up buying it. But if you can, I'd wait a little longer for it to get cheaper.
Oh, and character customization is REALLY extensive and awesome. However, costumes and weapons actually effect statistics which kinda is a bummer for I prefer to look pretty. However, looking pretty can usually mean having really poor statistics and lookikng really fugly means having good statistics. Shame, but meh! Hope it helps o.o;
Oh, and when you hear the term "Boob Calibur 4"; it fits x.x; Such a focus on making characters have enormous ...erm, assets. |

| | Re: Soul Calibur IV Well, there are what, 30 characters? Story mode is only 5 stages.
So, if you think of it, its long in that sense. But each "story" mode (sides being unique to each character) consists of only five stages.
But like I said, the game is much more than story mode o:. The Tower mode is gunna take ma a long time.
Reminds me of Bloody Palace mode in DMC4---> aka hell mode o.o |

For whatever reason my lady took all of astaroth's clothes off and gave him pink underwear. Instantly one of the big scary guys in the games is turned into "Male Stripper with tourettes syndrome."
