Yeah TF2 was kind of out of nowhere for me too. Diable 3 and SC2 have been in the works for ages.

One of the best parts of Diablo was the storyline. It was pretty immersive and continuous. Although it is your standard RPG, I love RPGs, hehe so I'm looking forward to this one.

Diablo 3 has always been obvious, just like it was obvious there would be a Starcraft 2 and obvious that there will eventually be a Warcraft 4.

A new franchise would have been surprising, sadly, they announced what everyone had already assumed was in the works.

There's already a better Diablo 3, it's called Guild Wars.
Diablo 2 kept me interested a lot longer than Guild Wars, and I'm positive that Diablo 3 will keep me interested even longer. It looks amazing from that gameplay video.

Guild wars never interested me, which I cannot figure out why. Hopefully Diablo 3 will keep me interested, been psyched about it for awhile.

I think that guild wars isin't a bad game but to be ohnest in my opinionit isin't even 1/10 as good as diablo 2 was and it will never be as good as diablo 3.Blizzard is known for relining the best games on the market, why didn't they release Starcraft Ghost? Because they didn't think it was good enough to be release'ed. Now everyone knows that when blizzard release's a game it will be a bloody blockbuster. I don't want to be mean but anyone who compares guild wars (or hellgate london) to diablo should have there balls cut off.

I used to always play Diablo 2 until that gay patch that made shit harder to find and kill. I had Godfather sword and all sorts of crap. I hope I don't have to pay a subscription.

Guys this isin't an MMO. The costs of containing the servers for this won't cost so much that they will have to collect addicional money for it. Look at StarCraft, Diablo 2 or WarCraft III, Battle.net is still kicking for those 3 games and they don't need subscription to keep it up and running. Besides they get a shitload of money from WoW, I think that that's enough to sustain 2 more battle.net games for a looooooooong time.

I was always surprised that diablo never made it to consoles... the hack and slash mechanic is about as simple as gaming gets, seems like a natural evolution to me

Marvel Ultimate Alliance did this basically, but was on a more limited scale.

They didn't say it would be an MMO, so I figure it will be using the battle.net structure which is no subscription.
