Default dbs_disposal

This is my first map, I'm not sure if the spawner actually works, or anything.

Players start off on raised platforms, and once the starting countdown reaches 0, the platforms disappear and the players are dropped onto conveyor belts. The conveyor belts go either backwards or forwards only, depending on which you are on (the direction is indicated by arrows on the belt), obviously. On each end of the belts is a pit. If you fall in, you're disposed of (thus the name).

Long story short, if you stand still, you die.

Beta 1
  • Initial Release
  • func_conveyor speed set to 330, and subject to change
  • Dodgeball spawner moved to a higher position to try and eliminate any chances of breaking the map (sorry guys)
Beta 2
  • func_conveyor speed set to 200, now people can actually stay on the conveyors without breaking their fingers
  • dodgeball spawner moved much closer to the playing field
  • fatboy chance set to 15, now its mostly rockets
Beta 3
  • func_conveyor speed set to 178, just to slow it down a little bit
  • intial dodgeball speed set to 500
  • fatboy chance set to 10
  • the small ledge that let players walk across to the other team's side has been removed
Beta 4
  • made one of the walls on red side smaller sho players couldnt stand on it

Gotta compile the .vmf file (raw hammer format) with hammer to have a .bsp output. Then we can upload it

Just played, the map looks promising. I would change the following things tho:

- Lower the nuke spawn. At the moment is hard to keep track of the spawning nukes and the conveyor belts at the same time.
- Start the conveyor belts at a slow speed. As the map time goes by, increase the belt speed (just like the nuke speed increases over time). This will allow people to get familiar with the conveyor belts and gradually make it more difficult as the game progresses.

But other than that, it looks interesting

This map plays well but players get tired of it fast. Everyone agreed that playing with low gravity made it a lot more fun, I can set that with a config so you don't need a new version. Was thinking of adding this for 10 minutes or so w/ 200ish gravity, let me know what you think.

b4 added to OP to get rid of a small plat, low gravity made the map a lot better.
