If complaining in text chat annoys you, you will have a tough time on the internet

It only annoys me on the Speedball server because EVERYONE DOES IT. 1 person trolling is easy to dispose of and forget about.

So....if everyone is complaining about a map, perhaps its not worth keeping it in the rotation?

How was that implied?

Regardless, I could sit here and write you guys a 15-paragraph long rant about people who complain on the speedball server, but I have spychecking to do.

I rarely complain unless someone is mic/voice spamming. I don't type much. I KEEL UR ARGUMENT.

Since Accelerator went off the air, I've barely heard anyone complain about the maps. Well maybe Snowfortress. And people say that Bowsers is too dark. Other than that people have been pretty happy. Perhaps it is you that needs to change your perspective.

But, C0LD, that is you. There are, what, 100ish other regulars and a lot of new people that complain alot (about 3/4ths of the regulars don't though, hurray for them)

P.S. It's snowforest goddamnit.

What's wrong with complaining? Aren't players allowed to express things they don't like? I mean, the regulars don't just complain, they usually also give arguments why they don't like a map for instance. At least I do.

The whole purpose of this thread is also to discuss maps to be added and removed. So I don't think there's anything wrong with being negative about certain maps.

You should relax... The point of this thread is to hear what people think of the maps and rotations in an organized way, rather than trying to listen to chatter and complaints ingame.

I've noticed a lot of players leaving when Blackhole comes up on the multirocket server and it seems to be all related to the way the blackhole sucks you in. The pull seems rather extreme in certain areas randomly. I can see it being strong like it should if you are close to the blackhole but it seems to be strong in odd areas at times.

A few days ago our whole team could not really move from the spawn when the round started without a lot of difficulty while blu came over and dominated us. Can the pull be adjusted somehow in terms of the area it affects?

They're going to do it anyway.

Then stop playing dodgeball and you're annoyance level goes down. Plus we don't have to listen to you bitch and moan on the forums.

Let this thread go back to map discussions.

Sorry, I didn't read all 7 pages of map QQ comments. I will say, that you can't please everyone. Just like the normal TF2 rotations, there are going to be maps that some people enjoy, while others don't.

However, over the past 4 months, I have noticed that players seem to QQ for really no good technical reason and then start an ill campain on the server to gain support against the map. Unfortunately, many of the DB maps will depend on the player's video and monitor configurations.

For example, the snow maps I made (e.g. dbs_snowforest) should look pretty amazing and players shouldn't have any issues with seeing the rockets. I know that my video card and monitor are nearly 5 years old and everything looks amazing. I don't tweak the contrast or brightness on them at all either. If I do, then I would have a hard time playing a map like that, as it would be too bright. This isn't the map's issue and it doesn't affect everyone. Unfortunately, those with this issue are going to be pretty vocal and QQ about it.

Secondly, the old veterans of the speed DB server are hungry for more. Unfortunately, we give them more complex difficult maps and the others will QQ that it's too hard. So, we now have 3 levels of DB difficulty players, with 2 of them being on the speed DB server.

Thirdly, the Speed DB server is for SPEED maps, not necessarily SINGLE ROCKET maps. It's for those that want more of a challenge than the slower and simple multi-rocket maps on the original server. Perhaps, we should just rename the server to Dodgeball Advanced or something along those lines? After all, this server should be about rapid rounds with elements requiring more skill than the traditional DB server.

Fourth, all of the QQ drama has definitely turned me off from working on any further DB maps. I was first turned off by the extreme pickiness of the traditional server, but the speed DB server has grown even worse with the arrogance and other attitudes found on there.

At the end of the day, dodgeball has failed to bring the fun entertainment value that once drew me to the servers. It's not the maps, as much as it has become the players on the servers.

If you want to QQ about a map, please post some valid technical reasons and flaws pertaining to the map, not just a "that map sux". Most mappers are attempting to bring something new and different for DB players to enjoy. They spend MANY hours mapping when they could be playing, so that players can enjoy a new map. So, please be constructive and not disrespectful when posting comments as well. Without those pouring time into creating maps, the DB servers will grow stale and eventually fade away.

Also, the map needs to be 10 minutes. It's way too long for a slower map.

I would like to suggest moving one of the relentless's (either relentless or reletlessnukes) to a different spot. While they are both good maps, having one after the other gets a little bit boring.
