Free Spec on Dodgeball Servers

Alright, since I've been commentating dodgeball for almost 2 months now I've thought of one thing I'd like to see.

Free spectate mode (or w/e its called) for dead players. Or the ability to spectate whoever in whatever camera mode we want.

Since its dodgeball I don't think ghosting would really be an issue. And it would greatly help me announce all the action.

So free spec mode plz?

For reasons I dont know about they took away the privelege months ago. I don't know why but it's only allowed for admins. For whatever reason they took off spectator mode, I dont think they will add it just because of a poll. Sorry.

Spectating for the dodgeball servers creates a whole ton of problems in the long run. I'm pretty sure there is no way to enable full roam spectate in the death camera, only when you are in full spectator-team mode. So the only way it would work is to enable full spectating abilities for everyone all the time. by that I mean actually join the spectator team, not sitting after dying.

As helpful as it may be to you, for the admins (and for some players), it makes life more difficult. Also note that, for the admins, the Dodgeball servers are already hard enough to deal with as is.

Finally, it goes against our server rules, which has been set in place to help stem off any kind of problems that come with spectating.

6. Spectating
Do not spectate. The voogru servers have a large load of player traffic, and spectating wastes a slot for another potential player. If you wish to spectate to screenshot/record a demo of a possible cheater/exploiter, you may only do so when an admin isn't online, and only for a brief period time. Only one person may spectate at a time for the purpose of recording demos/screenshotting.

As much as I know you (and some other players) want free spec mode, unfortunately, for now, I'm not going to let this one even get passed the voting, because regardless of how many votes are for it, I don't see it happening. Voog could maybe give the admins a command to enable spectator while they are around, but not quite sure.

However, I will talk it over with voogru and the other admins, and see what we can do. If we have a change of heart, we'll let you know.

I'd rather make it so you can just free look while dead. I think there may even be a cvar for this ill take a look.
