| | Re: Dodgeball Rotation Suggestion Start the verbage with, "Want to play a better map?" to grab players eyes. It invokes a response. Something like... Want to play a BETTER map?!?
Complain somewhere that matters.

| | Re: Dodgeball Rotation Suggestion voogru has plenty of messages that show up across the screen, in chat, on the motd, etc... pointing users to the website and forums. It's been there for a very long time. I believe the saying goes, "You can lead a horse to water, but it's up to them to drink."
I'd say that about 1% or less players come to the forum or ever will come to the website. There would have to be an extremely good reason to. Player statistics is the typical draw, but that can have side effects, which is why I believe the voogru community doesn't have any.
If there's going to be any sort of map rating system, it'll have to be provided in-game for the players to easily use while they're on the server. I doubt that spectator ads are going to do anything more than turn players off from staying on the server. |

| | Re: Dodgeball Rotation Suggestion I think people don't pay attention to all the auto prompts but a funny sign would get noticed no matter what. Something that specifically points out that you are playing a beta and as part of the beta process you can be a part of the final design by commenting on your experiences and making suggestions and criticisms. If you want people to do more than say, "This map sucks." you have to do something different because whatever is running now is not working. You need to advertise.
Forget the spec ad. Just put up a sign on a wall that is about the size of a spray next to the spawn exit. Put the hound dog with the puppy dog eyes on it, no one will resist.

| | Re: Dodgeball Rotation Suggestion I would have to agree with Mr. T here, those auto prompts that come up, I don't think I've ever read one. I click enter a bunch of times until I get to the team selection screen and away I go.
As for commenting on the maps, I don't really play on the dodgeball server as I seem to lack the ability to pay attention to the rockets and instead find myself chasing after players and getting blown up. So no comments from me. |

| | Re: Dodgeball Rotation Suggestion More and more players on the dodgeball servers are requesting a split rotation between the 2 servers. Mostly, players that love the single rocket speed dodgeball, are requesting a rotation of only these types of maps. They're tired of server hopping, which fails when both servers are in the same rotation at the same time (e.g. both on Paradise at the same time). I keep directing players over to these forums to post their opinions on the issue too. |

| | Re: Dodgeball Rotation Suggestion HoundDawg is right (<3), there's a collection of us who love the single rocket maps, and hop around the servers when they change to/from these maps. Now that we have a lot of variety in the single rocket department, I think a split between the servers would be fantastic.
Single rocket maps:
db_redcourt
db_blucourt
db_ring
db_accelerator
db_pingpong
db_hotnuke
Multi rocket:
db_aquarium
db_paradise
db_burst
db_bombing
db_temple
db_towers
db_mountain
db_stadium
mag_pyro_dodgeball
mag_pyro_2sides (I think that's the name anyways )
dodgeball_pit (Man, I'm pretty bad at remembering map names that don't start with db :P)
My $0.02. Edit: Seems like the servers were split between the two types of maps, hurray!
