Default Headset Suggestions?

Hi everyone, I'm new.

I looked through the old posts about headsets and found that most were dated around 2005.

So as the post title shows, I'm in the market for a new headset *I don't own one at all* and was wondering if you all had any good ideas on bang-for-buck products.

.Audio 90 Analog Headset
Clearance price: $8.95 +S&H. They sound great and are at least as comfortable as any $90+ set I have ever bought.
After someone linked me this set, I bought it and tried them out. Then I bought 2 more sets just to keep as backup

I've used this one from Logitech for several months and like it. It comes with a USB adapter, which doesn't have the background hiss that my laptop's internal sound card does.

I personally use This one from Logitech, but I have to admit, it's pretty flimsy. The headphones on mine broke (I'm crazy and I like to chew on my stuff). They are comfy though.

I bought mine for much less though. I would not pay $50 for them; I would pay $30 though (Which is what I did pay for them)

Is there any reason to not buy a desktop mic instead of getting a headset combo?

IE is the quality really different? or bad in comparison?

Headphones are always handy in TF2.

Plus, it's more convenient.

I use plantronics 350s. They're comfortable for hours and they're cheap. buy.com has a halo 2 branded version for $9.99 shipped. Or if you really really hate halo and don't want it near your head the unbranded pair for $27.

Just be sure to wear some type of earphones, or the game sounds will get recorded by the desktop mic with your voice and sound like an echo when you talk. Very annoying.

I use Plantronics GameCom 1 Stereo PC Gaming Headset 20 bucks, and fairly durable with good mic/sound.

I have broken many a headset, from either stepping/slamming/transporting them, so I just tend to get whatever doesn't hurt my ears (behind the ear sets are terrible for long sessions, and some larger headsets press down too much on the fleshy part of the ear).
