I'm not looking for anything big (22-26in), but it does need to be relatively cheap (~300). The one I'm looking at, and it did get good reviews, is: Newegg.com - AOC 22" 16:10 5ms 720p LCD HDTV L22W761
Specs aren't bad for the price: 16:10 aspect, 1000:1 contrast, 5ms, 720p
But I haven't really heard of AOC, so I'm not sure whether to go with it or not.
If anyone has any suggestions for a better deal, or even just a good site to look for TVs on, thatd be great.

I'm not a fan of AOC, I had monitors from them go bad in 1 year. |

| | Re: New TV I'm getting a new TV myself, buying off amazon, they seem to have really good deals. I'm getting my 46" LCD HDTV for almost a thousand bucks less than my nearest Best buy.
Currently i'm using a Go^Video (Soyo Group, Inc.) 27" LCD HDTV, and it's working fantastic. Retailed for 600, but i got it for 400, and have had it for a year.
You really have to consider the golden rule of buying anything. You get what you pay for.

A decent TV with a great warranty > An awesome TV with a bad warranty
Even if nobody else has ever had a problem with a certain brand or TV there is always that small chance that you could be one of the first to have problems. Warranty will save you.

I might go up to $400, I'll have a look on amazon.

Samsung (and two other Korean companies, one of which is now dead), were the primary outlets to renovate Korea after their "hardships" during WWII. (IIRC from the courses I took...) |

| | Re: New TV that woot is a refurbished westinghouse lcd
I wouldn't buy an LCD with a 90 day warranty, especially of that brand.
I always buy tv's from somewhere I can get an extended warranty. That extra 50 bucks for a 3 year warranty has saved me hundreds if not thousands. My TV is on 24/7 pretty much so I have to do it. Hell the one time I didn't do it I almost got screwed because the Samsung factory warranty expired like the week before... I talked to the manager of Circuit City where I bought the TV from and he let me buy the extended warranty to get it fixed no questions asked after it got a HUGE purple spot on the right side. Needless to say they will be getting my next TV purchase as well just for doing that, especially because when I took it into them to get it repaired they just said screw it and gave me a brand new one.
Samsung or Panasonic Viera is what I'd say for LCD TVs. Sony is good but expensive. My parents got a kinda cheap Vizio and thats done well also. If you're bringing your gaming rig to your dorm I'd say get a huge ass monitor and a tv tuner card unless your computer is loud as hell. TV tuner cards are like 40-50 bucks now. |

I agree with Heimdal regarding the Westinghouse, I had one, it broke within 8 months (the power supply died).
Although we bought a floor model Sony HDTV 3 years ago, it was still running strong when I sold it last spring. So don't shy away just because its refurbished.

Also, I wouldn't buy anything expensive from woot.com if its refurbished. Multiple refurbished products I bought from them ($20 dollars for two wireless ps2 controllers, one didnt work out of the box, the other didnt work after a couple weeks, and a $40 set for gyration moues and keyboard, mouse works find and i love it, but the keyboard didnt type very well)
Plus with the hot deal I saved $150, plus another $24 from AAA.com savings, plus free shipping.
Thanks G2
