I do see a difference in the games that are supported by the card that I play: Company of Heroes and and GRAW2.
I have also seen a small difference in Battlefield 2. I noticed that when I run someone over with a buggy or jeep that their body is a little more animated and has better ragdoll physics when it goes flying...
Overall I think that the PhysX card will add a few fps because it takes a small load off of the GPU.
Off topic, I just ran some video stress tests using CounterStrike:Source
Model, Texture, Shader, Shadow detail - High
Water detail - Reflect all
Color Correction - Enabled
Antialiasing - 16xQ CSAA
Antisotropic Filtering Mode - 16x
Full HDR 1680x1050 Resolution
Vertical synch - Off Result - 228.27 FPS with at times maxing out @ 299 FPS
Vertical synch - On Result - 59.23 FPS with that buggy pink/purple hue on most surfaces, bahh
vert synch sux, leave it off
I would say these are pretty good numbers, thanks to the 8800 Ultra. Crysis is breathtaking on Ultra High settings also. Okay, enough bragging ... |

Athlon XP 2600+ (2.133 GHz)
1 GB RAM (DDR 2100, well, 27000 technically but it only runs at 266)
GeForce4 Ti4600 (Forceware 96.31 ftw!)
SB Live Platinum 5.1 (yes, they still make drivers for this... kinda)
and as of this afternoon, a no-longer-functioning Sidewinder Precision Pro (pos driver issues with XP SP3 I think)
So um, yeah, it "runs" TF2 but when I disappear every now and then it's because this compost heap crashes out. It also takes more than a minute to just get to the main menu, not to mention connecting...
I'll post my new one when I'm less broke |

XFX 8800 GTX XXX card. The liquid loop is on the vid card, North bridge chip and the CPU. Even with the CPU, ram (heats up N/B when OC'd) and vid over clocked it idles (load Prime 95) mobo 33C(34-35C) ,CPU 34C (50C), N/B 32C (36C), vidgpu 33C-VIDmem 33C (46C). Using a thermochil 120.3 radiator (3 120mm fans). These vary slightly lower based on any ambient changes. The thing I like the best is how fast it drops to idle temps after 4-5hrs of hard gaming.
