| | Re: unofficial POST YOUR RIG thread I like your setup yazz, for some reason it just looks like the "comfy home" setup. Also the layout of the picture lol, it looks like a portrait of your home, plus the text part was cool :P, inspired me to make one too. It's cool that you and your wife play across from each other like that. I envy you damn people with relationships =/. |

It's not entirely finished at all, next time I'm do is paint it all dark red or w/e those theater colors are. But yeah, here you go. It's all based on the layout of having my computer connect to the HDTV without any problems. View 2 is when I'm sitting at my desk, this is why it's all based on playing TF2 on the HDTV :P. I have a video of it but I'll upload tomorrow. |

after thinking about i probably would rather just be running a single 8800GTX just for simplicity. if i cant find another way around it i'm fine with the two i have but i figure i'll give it a shot in a few areas. |

I hope cause I was talking about SLI in my reply. One GTX would do just fine or an 8800GT SC from EVGA. They can easily surpass GTX by just a small overclock and you save half the money. I got mine for 259. |

i'm thinkin of tryin to snag a GTX for sub $200 if i can find a reliable seller (and win the damn bid). |

Intel X6800 (Extreme Dual Core @ 2.93 GHz)
4 Gig Corsair DDR2 XMS2
ASUS P5W DH Deluxe Motherboard
XFX 7950GT 512 Meg Video Card
Antec NEO HE550 Power Supply
Creative Labs X-FI Sound Card (Still no Linux Drivers!!)
Plextor 760A DVD-+RW DL drive
Plextor 712A DVD -+RW Drive
1x320 GIG WD Drves (OS and games)
2X750 G WD drives (RAID 1)
Vista Ultimate 64 Bit (don't buy Ultimate it's not worth it, mine was a present from my wife)
I hear people all the time complain about Vista. My Vista doesn't lock up or Blue Screen. It runs for weeks without needing a reboot. But I still have some minor issues with certain games.
IMHO XPee is still the better platform for gaming. Actually I would prefer to use Linux. I'm too lazy to reload it.
Machine was built in November of 2006. Only upgraded the memory and added the 2 750 gig drives since then. I know the video card is getting dated but still runs everything just fine. When I built the machine the NVidia 8000 series was just released, I'm not spending $600 on a video card that will be worth half that in 6 months.
