Abusive Admin Chrono

Before I hash out my complaint I want to say that I really enjoy playing on the Voogru servers, they bring a fun game atmosphere with competitive play. I play them nearly every day and am friends with many people and Admins like Pipski, SchizoidMan, Avalanche to name a few. That being said, One Admin in particular rune's the flow of the Voogru servers. Admin Chronopolis abuses his rights as an Admin often reflecting negative on gameplay. I've scene him do many thing unbecoming of an Admin.

1. I've scene him stack a team with all V's (granted not against the rules but runes bothe the fun and flow of the game)

2. He cancels map vote that pass almost unanimously (other admins cancel them to but only if there ruining gameplay i.e. map vote every two seconds)

3. He neglects exploits and disruptive gameplay (Asked him multiple times to either ask or 5 min ban Engineers that bug build loop teleporter's on purpose. Now on my 64bit system console doesn't work so I cant kill myself when in the loop. He just laughed and did nothing to alleviate the situation)

I've been tempted to right something like this even before the thing that happened that made me write this, but i'd rather spend my free time playing then bitching about someone. Recently after canceling yet another vote of which was approved the first of which after switching to the Well which we had just played and not many people like. I then in message box typed that he was a Nazi(which of course is the way he was acting) he banned me for 10 days from the server. granted it probably wasn't the smartest thing to say but besides typing a flaming Post like this, its the only way to disapprove of his admin position.

Since I'm off for the summer from teaching, I'll take the time to go through this banned complaint as throughly as I can.

Let me first set up the scene for you, Macsimus, as you have left out some glaring details. First and foremost, we had just changed maps to cp_well. A map vote had already gone through and failed prior to yours, so it appeared people were happy with cp_well. However, you started another vote not 2 minutes after, so I promptly canceled the vote. Just for your information, you weren't banned for that.

The second point I want to raise (and this is where you got yourself banned) is when I asked you (and everybody else) to stop making the map votes. This is exactly what I said (I've got a condump to prove it):

This has nothing to do with my admin status or responsibility. My duty is to watch over the server, maintain respect and ultimately the rules we've endorsed here on voogru.com. I cancel map votes when I deem the unnecessary or at a wrong time. As I did today, I canceled a map vote that you started because we had just gone onto a new map, and people had already voted against a map vote previous to yours. I've been an admin for a long time here in this community, so don't you think somebody else would have complained about me canceling votes if it was constantly something I was abusing? It's one thing to twist stories, but to make up complete and false things about me, well that's just rude and disrespectful. I'm so sorry Chrono that I cant provide evidence the same way your Admining abilities can. The quotes you did provide are legitimate and I do not deny any of them. But you have many of the facts out of context.

1. I never said you were rude, just that you abused your powers. The first map vote was for a rare uploaded map that many people said no and said to choose a different map. So a second map Vote was started that passed and you canceled. Also if you actually played on the server for any length of time beside getting your power trips you would know that we had just played the well about a 2 maps ago and many didnt want to play it again hence the vote.

2. Yes I was inappropriate at saying up your's but in no way is that even harsh for server language. Second being called a Nazi is not an insult. Would you be offended if I called you a Republican or a Liberal? I chose the word Nazi because its the type of totalatarian Admin you are and how you run the server.

3. I'm not grabbing at straws everything I said did happen. The purpose of some of the points was to establish your character not to say it was against server rules.

A. As I said it is not against the server rules to stack teams but it does attribute to the type of player and admin you are.

B.Yes you did cancel the vote without knowing the context of the vote and just stating "Stop with the Map Votes". You neglected to look at the chat and to the fact that people wanted another Regular map voted. No you just expressed your whims like you always do!

C. I can not attribute to your Admin record, as is you don't play that much and rarely when I do see you on I leave knowing what the condition of the game is gonna be. I can tell you the part about the teleporters did happen whether you believe me or not.

I never claimed you to be calling me rude. The point was that I replied to your comment ("Up Yours Chrono") in a respectful manner, and then you went on to call me a Nazi.

A rare uploaded map? Lying again. According to my condump: TwizeeK_ started map vote for ctf_2fort. The other map was for cp_fastlane, which is indeed a very popular map on our servers. How do I know? Because I play often on the voogru.com servers, that's how. Another thing. Check out my name, look to the right, and you'll see about 444 hours played on the voogru servers since TF2 has been out. I haven't played on the servers for any length of time? Hmm, I think not.

Apparently you can't read, so let me show you the server rules again:

RESPECT doesn't just mean "don't swear at the admins". It means RESPECT THEM. "Up Yours Chrono" is certainly not a form of respect, that should be clearly obvious. I'd like to remind you that a Republican and Liberal has far different connotations than a Nazi (and meaning). Don't try to talk your way out of this one.

Disobeying server rules or not doing my job is clearly tied to my character, and as you can see from my previous post (and the post of other admin(s) here on the forums), my character should not be in question.

Okay, anyways, here are some final comments. I appear to speak down to you because your posts are incoherent, inconsistent, and most importantly, are full of lies. It really isn't all that hard for me to do so. Moreover, Your posts are "classless and unintellectual" because they're full of lies. They're filled with, as Theguy pointed out, malice and hate. I don' want to sound condescending, but honestly, your posts sound like a 10 year old boy trying to argue with his parents. Lastly, why shouldn't the buck stop at me? I was the one who banned you, not another admin. I answer only to voogru and TiC, and unless they tell me to overturn the ban, I won't be, nor do I plan to.

I've had no problem with you in the past Macsimus. In fact, I was actually going to unban you if you came onto the forums and posted a decent apology. However, after reading your posts, I've started to think twice about you. I've lost a lot of respect for you at this point, not so much because you have a problem with me, but because you made up numerous lies (about the situation at hand and about me).

Tell me again I forget is cp_fastlane a regular valve map? Oh really, so regardless that it is a popular map, it's still is an uploaded custom map.

Good job with the Console post, next time try posting the the map vote you canceled and not the cp_fastlane one. Convenient that you left out what map the in console is being voted? If you'll move a bit further down the console log you should see it unless you want to conveniently forget to copypasta it again. As you can see from your paste at the very end is the vote that I started

In what way are my posts incoherent? Do they not speak English in Canada? Inconsistent, really, what pray tell did I renege on? Full of lies? In what way did I lie, other than your careful copy pasta? I really don't know how I can be anymore civil towards you. I really don't have any reason to lie, if I honestly wanted to get the ban removed I'd suck up to you. Everything I said did happen whether you want to believe it or not. Granted I don't have the proof that you can provide to validate your claims. and to tell you the truth I really don't care that much as this is a game. All I care about is that in my free time that i can play where my friends are. I admit fully that I said both "Up Yours Chrono" and calling you a "Nazi". So when it comes down to it your banning me for 10 days for being called a Nazi. I'm going to leave it at that, as I'm tired of arguing with you. Might as well make it a perma ban, because worst comes to worst I'll find some other good server to donate to and play on. A bit of advice, the difference between you and a good Admin is a good Admin is down to earth and is almost indistinguishable from another player. Respect is given and not earned, beyond common courtesies. If you want people to respect you and I mean real people not other Admins, and not out of fear, try climbing down off that high horse and joining the rest of us.

I would never normally comment in a thread such as this, unless I was on the server at the time of the ban. It's my firm belief that once any admin uses their judgment to initiate a ban or a class restriction it is between them and the player concerned to discuss and resolve any issues or, as chrono points out, for Tek or Voog to make a final judgment call.

However in this case I will not hesitate to jump to Chronos defense. In your first post you mention me as one of your friends on the server, so I feel obliged to offer my own $0.02 worth. Basically you fucked up, if you had just posted and said 'sorry dude I was being an ass, it wont happen again'. I'm certain Chrono would have be more than happy to reduce or remove the ban.

As it happens your attempt at character assassination of Chrono is not only totally unwarranted and blatantly untrue. It smacks of disrespect far beyond anything that transpired within the server. Chrono is a senior and respected member of the community and devotes a lot of his time to not only monitoring the server and forums, but helping out with player’s technical questions and problems. As with all the admin staff Chrono does his utmost to make the game enjoyable and free of asshattery for all and that’s why he’s been doing this for the voogru servers for the last 5 years.

Take your 10 days, go to the beach, chill out and come back and play when you are ready.

Regardless of what parts of the condump are posted here, everything on our servers is logged for administrative review, therefore Chrono has no reason to fabricate anything as you are accusing him of.

As for Chrono "expressing his whims like he always does", kind of like how you "express your whims" about what YOU think everyone on the server is thinking? Voice your opinion about a map all you want, but the point is that EVERYONE dislikes some map, and no two people will ever agree on what the next map should be.

Your point about fastlane being a custom map is moot, there is a reason it has been uploaded to the servers. We don't add random crap custom maps just to waste people's time, there is a long review process before a map is accepted. Not to mention that you started another vote for ANOTHER custom map (???) so I have no idea where you are trying to go with this.

In short, there is really no reason why you should need to start a vote map (or more than one) after a map change. We have 3 TF2 servers, I'm sure you can find one playing a map you don't feel like complaining about.

Finally; admins and fellow players do not need to earn your respect, it is a rule that you accept when joining our servers.

I'm going to leave it at that, as I'm tired of arguing with you. Might as well make it a perma ban, because worst comes to worst I'll find some other good server to donate to and play on. A bit of advice, the difference between you and a good Admin is a good Admin is down to earth and is almost indistinguishable from another player. Respect is given and not earned, beyond common courtesies. If you want people to respect you and I mean real people not other Admins, and not out of fear, try climbing down off that high horse and joining the rest of us.

Just a few things before I leave this thread for TiC to finish off for me and deal with you.

1. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Your attitude royally sucks, and at this point, I'm glad I never removed the ban. You made my job very easy. Thank you.

2. According to your argument in this thread, a good admin will let you disrespect him (as you did by saying "up yours" and calling me a "nazi") and allow you to break server rules (as you did by disrespecting an voogru.com staff member - me). Sorry mate, it doesn't work that way.

3. Learn to follow the rules. This isn't about me being high and mighty, it's about your unwarranted bad attitude and ultimately, YOU breaking the server rules (which is EXACTLY what I banned you for, nothing else). One last time, let me show you are #1 rule to get through your thick head:

What else is there to say? I could go on about how you tried to twist the whole "rude" thing unsuccessfully, or how proper use of the English language is beyond your capability, but if I had to guess, I'd say that English wasn't your first language anyway, so I'll let it slide. The bottom line is, you bucked authority and got your ass handed to you as a result. I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you possess the capacity for basic common sense, so the following phrase should have at least some meaning to you.

Sticking it to "the man" is always a gamble in terms of consequences. This time, luck wasn't on your side.

In my opinion, when that happens, you're permitted two basic choices that will resolve the situation in a manner that isn't idiotic. You can both wait out your consequences and come back with a reformed, non-internet rebel attitude, or apologize to your superior overlords while acknowledging that screaming "Nazi Nazi Nazi!" isn't the best way to deal with your problem. And I say your problem because, in the end, you're the one living the illusion that people are granted some sort of democratic rights by playing on a game server. Obviously, as this situation has shown, that's not quite the case.

I'm all for letting things slide, but only in situations where the offender in question is worthy of such a privilege. And as much as I hate to break it to you - after what has transpired here - you most certainly aren't. One can only hope you’ll learn to swallow your pride the next time you’re in a situation like this. It affords you the benefit of secretly cursing out your oppressors while simultaneously mesmerizing them with fake sincerity to get yourself out of trouble. That’s a good life lesson too, for, you know, when you get older.
