Banned 7/5, not sure what rule I broke.

I was playing on your voogru Fast Respawn server (74.54.216.52:27015) and was banned overnight it seems. Only thing I get for a reason is "I see what you did there."

I don't know what rule I broke yesterday. It might have something to do with testing out the flare gun bug that I saw about on the internet, but I stopped after a couple of minutes and went back to trying to set people on fire. There were some goons that showed up under the tag [TEAM FLARE] who eventually crashed the server using the flare gun bug, but at that point I had long since stopped messing around with it. After looking at the server rules linked in the ban complaint guide, I don't think I see anything in there that I technically broke. By a long shot, you could say that for those 2-3 minutes I was disrespecting the other pubbies, but that's the only thing I can think of.

If at all possible, I would like to be unbanned. The voogru servers have been a favorite of mine since I started and I don't think I've been much of a troublemaker before. If I did break any rules or inadvertantly irritated any of the supporting staff here, I do apologize and hope to be forgived eventually.

Looking forward to a response of any kind.

You participated in crashing my second server, you are also a member of Something Awful.

All "Something Awful" members will immediately and permanently be banned from my servers from now on.

2. Cheating/Exploiting
Any player caught cheating and/or exploiting will be banned. This includes building under or through maps and sniping through grates on dustbowl. Admins, and only admins will decide who cheats and who does not. The proper course of action would be to record a demo of the user in question, and then post it in the voogru forums for admin review.

You will not be unbanned unless you make some astronomical contribution for your actions against my server.

I expected better from a regular who has logged over 50 hours, once I went ahead and banned a bunch of SA goons I took notice that several past bans we have issued were against members of SA, this further reinforces banning the entire likes of them.

I'd be willing to do a lot to get unbanned, cause I do like playing regularly on the server. I just don't know exactly what you mean by that. I'm guessing a simple donation wouldn't suffice, regardless of size. If you can give me a specific as to what "astronomical contribution" is, I'll strive to achieve it.

The problem here is I'm not sure we want you on the server. So it would have to be enough to warrant dealing with the hassle again if you decide to do something fucking stupid again.

I still have to consider if I even want a "get out of banned for $50 card".

Sounds more than fair. If the $50 option does become available, I'll take it. For now I'll wait for the final judgment as to whether or not that is an option.

My final comments on this for now, next time think before acting like a jackass, especially if you claim to enjoy playing on the servers. I will ruthlessly ban jackasses and fucktards before they even know what happened.

Every exploit that becomes available, once I discover it I will always turn them into indiscriminate fly traps to remove scumbags from our servers.

To everyone else, think twice before using an exploit on the server. You will get caught.

You thought you'd test out a bug? What the hell's the matter with you? If you've been playing on the servers regularly, you know damn well not to fuck around, even for what you consider minor exploit-testing. When you play on the servers you agree to the rules. Rules is rules. A couple of minutes of that crap is a long time -- certainly long enough to be a real pain in the ass. I can't believe you think 2-3 minutes of using an exploit excuses you from a ban. I saw what you did with the flare gun bug when I connected and then the server promptly crashed on me seconds later after trying to get the necessary screenshots & condump. Thanks a lot. Really annoying & I couldn't wait to see the ban hammer come down after the dust settled. Want to do stupid things like that? Go to stupid servers & keep the hell out of ours.

Duly noted. This was just a lapse into retardation, and I'm looking to make things right again. It's not like I'm trying to get unbanned just to do it over again. It was just stupid of me to try it on the server I was on instead of joining some random server that was empty.

That's just as bad, if you're trying to test something like that, start your own local server. You obviously don't realize what this does to the server itself.


As to banning SA, not so sure because there's plenty of awesome stuff coming from them that has nothing to do with griefing.

There are also legit players in the Cafes, but the few "false positives" are really REALLY outweighed by the giant number of true asshats that were blocked. I hate to say that SA is kinda the same in my book, but V would have a much better idea of what's going on.

OK, I came around a bit. So long that it is made clear the they can't get in because they are an SA member (which voogru has now done), I'm fine with it. If the person really wants to play they can come onto the forums and request and unban, but someone intending to grief would most likely just pick an easier server to target.

G2, when they form a bunch of people together, for the express purpose of raging, why not ban them all?

The problem here is SA has a very high concentration of lameasses, there were a lot of previous bans we have issued that just so happened to be members of SA. I'm talking about at least twenty of our previous bans, who were banned for various offenses.
