Help, Banned by Chronopolis?

I was like, “What the…?” When I finally got logged back on, to try and find out what was going on, I was kicked again, and this time the box indicated “You are banned from this server” Reason: “Being a Jackass”

I couldn’t understand what was going on. Having little success trying to find out by logging back on the server, I set out to locate an alternate means of contact.

After an internet search, I located the voogru IRC channel on Gamesurge and ‘text-chatted’ online with several administrators over the course of the next few days.

It seems the primary complaint was their displeasure concerning alleged logon attempts causing text chat blockage in the Team Fortress 2 game. I was continually referred to a link containing a .jpg photo of the alleged logon attempts. One administrator explained that “this was the main reason you were banned.”

I apologized to the administrators that were present on the IRC channel and explained that I had no way of knowing, at the time, and did not realize that several simultaneous logon attempts would cause in-game text chat blockage. (Perhaps Valve can address this ‘bug’ in their next Team Fortress 2 update?)

With that said, I would like to request the ban be lifted, and offer my sincerest and most humble apology to everyone on the voogru 30 slot Team Fortress 2 server, with special consideration and apology to Chronopolis, for any grief or inconvenience. It was not, and never has been my intention to cause any problems for anyone. I'm truly sorry.

Your apology is much appreciated, as well as your following of the guidelines for posting a banned complaint. That being said, I'm going to have to think about this, talk with some other admins, and get back to you on if the ban will be lifted.

I have one question though. I spoke with you roughly 2-3 weeks ago, suggesting you to come here on the website and create a banned complaint as you have here. Why would it take you so long to do just that?

You see, theres a procedure to file a banned complaint.

Connecting to the server 3,630 times until I had to manually put in an IP banning mechanic to stop the "x joined the game" spam, is not one of them and does not win you any favors with me, when I have to take time out of making cool things to make something lame to stop some lameass.

The next player in line connections wise, has 1500 connections.

The website is in the name of the server, so finding the forums & website is not very difficult, I'm not a hard person to contact. There were much better ways to talk to me then to spam my server with join requests.

Since during your IRC conversations you are claiming to be a girl, I am going to try and see just what kind of person you are.

I want a picture of you, holding up a piece of paper with "voogru" written on it in your left hand, and your right hand pinky on your nose.

Fill that request, and if you are who you say you are, I'll unban you.

I am insuring that your not using "im a girl k" exucse to get out of a ban. You seem sincere, now let's see you back it up, also I'm not going to lift the ban just because you claim to be a girl.

The reason why I'm deciding to maybe unban you is because you seem sincere.

If you follow up on my request, there will be conditions on the unban, and the smallest slipup will result in a shiny new ban.

All I know is I have never had 3,630 connection windows open. Regardless, I’m not here for coding lessons, so
perhaps you can explain how that all works another time.

With reference to the comment in IRC chat about being a ‘she’.. That was done because of the continued references
to ‘he’ or ‘him’ and on at least one occasion, a reference that was quite derogatory.

If you would honor my request and stand in front of your house, on one leg, with your address visible,
and ‘voogru’ written in black shoe polish on your forehead, and a sign in your right hand that says,

I can be assured that you are truly the person making the request.

All jokes aside. I would never expect you to lift the ban for the sole reason of a persons gender.
At the same time, I would never expect you to uphold the ban, simply because of a persons
gender, or their inability, or refusal to prove gender, for whatever reason.

I was told to post here on this forum, and I have complied. I was unaware that this issue would progress
into the identity and gender issue that it has become.

It isn't code, he is talking about you spamming the server with "connect" and "retry" commands in the console 3,630 times after being banned.

You don't need to understand code to follow simple logic. He is telling you that you have more than DOUBLE the amount of connections of our most active player. This is a result of you spamming reconnect or "retry" maliciously after being banned to flood the server with join messages. This is not up for debate, no matter what ignorance you claim, as your actions have been logged and proven. This has nothing to do with IRC, or who may or may not have offended your "gender." This is also not the place for humor, and if you couldn't tell, you pretty much had one chance and just blew it.

The connections is how many times you connected, or attempted to connect to the server.

You’re the one asking to be unbanned. Not me, I’m the guy with the banstick. See, I’m so confident that you’re a guy pretending to be a girl, that if you prove me wrong, I’ll unban you because then you’re probably sincere about your apology as well.

There’s other girls who posted their pictures here, and I even posted mine. I’m not asking for “omg do u hav nekkid pics”, so I think my request is simple and reasonable to meet.

I have had many people claim to be a girl to try and get out of banned free cards. If you pull the “im a girl” card, and you say you’re sorry for being a lameass and want to come back, to test your integrity I will ask you to prove your gender.

Imagine this scenario:

Let’s say, you say you’re sorry, and also during conversation you claim to be a girl (when you’re not).

If you’re lying about your gender, then I’d assume you’re not really sorry, because if you’re willing to lie on something as big as your gender, you’re probably going to lie about being sorry as well.

You caused me to do extra work on my server to take care of a special case like you who was spamming my server with connections, you’re going to have to jump through some extra hoops to get unbanned, especially if you claim to be a girl. If you would have never said you were a girl I would have found some other flaming hula hoops to make you jump through. But since you said you were a girl, you made it easy for me.

Because quite frankly, you really pissed me off. I had to write in new code and update all of my servers (involving a restart that drops all player connections).

I’m quite confident that you’re a guy. But the ball is in your court to show me who’s wrong.

It has been over 24 hours with no reply so I am assuming you will not honor my simple request.

I have come to the conclusion that you are probably a guy, therefore lied about something as big as your gender, and therefore, would probably lie about something as little as an apology.

I will not lift your ban as a result.
