| | Rev banned for "being a lameass" Supposedly banned by Thief, although I don't know because I didn't receive a warning or a reason direct, what I know about my ban is all hearsay. I play at Voogru basically daily and am friends with basically all the regulars: hawk, bunny, pipski, hobo matt, enigma, five rivers, tasty, ravinreverend etc. etc. I am a good player, I feel like I get along quite well with all the members at Voogru.
Then today I was playing on Well I believe, or maybe we'd just gone to Dustbowl, and I was just chatting with Enigma as we lost the first point when I was kicked without a warning or a reason and now I guess from hearsay i am banned for 15 days for "being a lameass." This isn't the kind of treatment I'd expect from a community I've come to love and feel part of. I'd been warned earlier about arguing with TheG2 about USB headphones, which I found silly as we were both being quite civil, and after being warned about my singing I did stop back on Well. Usually I sing a little and people laugh and egg me on.
So there you have it. I'd love an explanation of my ban or a chance to have it lifted, or be able to talk directly to the admin and have my ban explained to me. THanks. |

Singing songs over the mic is not appreciated. I warned you after your first round of singing to stop, and you continue a few minutes later. Whatever status you believe you hold here does not make you exempt from the rules which can be found at http://www.voogru.com/?v=rules
Your ban, like all banned players is available for appeal and discussion here and in the admin forums. As far as I am concerned you will serve the time given

As far as I am concerned you will serve the time given | Like I said, I don't recall ever being warned once by you, but other players complained so I stopped. I sang like ONE line 10 minutes later and you just ban me for FIFTEEN days. That's way overboard especially considering how much I play at voogru, the fact that I never talked back about my singing, stopped on my own accord and the fact that I sing all the time with -v- players who think it's hilarious and egg me on. Today wasn't one of those days, I stopped after singing once, I wasn't mic spamming or anything. I would LOVE to appeal this ban as I think it was rash, harsh, personal, vindictive and overboard in the amount of time I'm banned for. |

Your team members asked you to stop as well. Not only that, you were apparently rude to other players when they asked you to stop. In addition, several players said you had been singing for over 90 seconds. You also continued to sing after the map changed.
Unfortunately, based on the testimonies of several other players, it appears that you are lying here in your posts. Therefore, the ban stays.
One thing I want to make clear. Just because you play on our servers often does not mean you can do or say anything. All players are expected to follow the server rules, regardless of how long they've been playing here.

| | Re: Rev banned for "being a lameass" Wow, apparently we need to read peoples' threads more carefully. I already stated that I was warned about my singing by other members of my team. I never once recall hearing Thief telling me anything. After being warned by my team mates to stop singing I did. ONE time after that on the next map is when I was banned, for like a tiny jingle. I wasn't talking smack to anyone about my singing either. I jokingly said "Good thing I'm not singing Celine Dion" and that was that.
I was civily arguing with TheG2 about USB headphones when "Console" told us to stop, although there was very little hostility. I already admitted being "warned" about singing and I stopped, and you are telling me that for doing it once more tiny as a joke I'm banned for 2 weeks without having any prior kicks or bans for my behavior in the past and being a pretty much well liked and respected regular of voogru? |

The fact that you cannot follow the guidelines posted in the sticky and your continued refusal to take any responsibility for your actions leaves you with a 15 day vacation.
We are all mature adults here, all that is needed is a simple apology and explanation. By the way, the separate admin monitoring the server text chat through console mediating some argument has nothing to do with your ban, as much as you seem to believe so.
Also, all server members, including; regulars, admins and passers-by are to be respected, it doesn't matter who tells you to stop spamming the mic, do it. That doesn't mean continue doing it on the next map or some minutes later as a "joke".
Hopefully players in the future will read this thread and use it as an example of how how NOT to make an appeal.

The only time where it is somewhat acceptable to 'sing' is when a round is over and your team is trying to slaughter the other team before the round resets, or your trying to hide from the other team long enough so they can't find you. |

- First off, I was the "console" at the time - an argument sparked that was far from civil and I diffused it. I did this via a RCON window outside of the game, so once it stopped, I moved on to other things. My warning was completely unrelated to any "singing" that may have been taking place because I obviously couldn't hear it.
- You seem to be confused about the nature of warnings here. I say this because, technically, an admin doesn't have to do any such thing. By connecting to the server, we assume you have read and understand the rules that exist. If you haven't, it's no excuse. Warnings are of course an option (that is used quite frequently), but try not to presume that this courtesy is something you're entitled to, especially if you were being a dick just minutes prior to your offense (logs don't lie, so neither should you).
- Right up until I saw this latest post I was actually discussing the possibility of reducing your ban time. The way I see it now, you have one of maybe three options, two of which I'll explain now. You can choose to apologize for your actions and politely ask us to reduce the ban time or you can simply wait it out. In both cases, you'll need to ensure that you don't break anymore rules when you come back or you'll be risking a permanent ban. The choice is yours, but I personally recommend option #1.

| | Re: Rev banned for "being a lameass" Okay, I seriously don't get it. I haven't shown any admins disrespect in any of my posts nor have I been childish. I don't understand why I'm being scolded for my appeal behavior. I already admitted my actions. I don't think that questioning the punishment is really a big deal. I see a two week ban as excessive. I really don't even know where to begin defending myself as I have been civil this entire time. I apologize for my 'mic spamming' and I'm sorry I couldn't make my appeal more pleasant. |

Please don't mic spam in the future. I'm only doing this because I'm in a good mood despite all of the complaints. If you slip up again your out. | |
