TV experts needed. I'm going to be buying a new TV in the next few weeks and I have about £500 to spend ($744 dollars). I don't really know anything about TV's so I'm looking for some advice on buying and choosing the best TV possible. All I know is that I want the TV to be 42 inches and 1080p. I've read up on the different resolutions and found out that 1080p is the best resolution, so I want that. The only thing that's seemed to be a little low in the TV's I've looked at is the contrast, with one of the TV's 1:1200 and the other 1:2000. Most of the guides I've read have stated that 1:3000 is standard for flatscreens, but they also say there's not much difference between a contrast of 1:500 and 1:10,000 and you can't really see it. I want to know if it's worth it to buy a TV that has a lower contrast but has everything I want or a smaller TV with higher contrast. How important is the contrast and resolution in terms of picture quality? And is there anything I should know when buying a HDTV and what to look out for? Like tv tuners or number of hdmi ports? Hopefully you can help. |
