Ok so I hate intermittent errors as I'm sure you all do too. I'm running 2GB DDR2-8500 crucial ballistix memory I picked up back in February. My OS is Vista Home Premium x64. Sometimes when I cold boot my computer Vista screws up and shows up as half my drivers not working, BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death), Windows installer inoperable, and sometimes random memory dump errors occur. After restarting Vista 2-5 times then everything works perfectly fine and will do so for days. Then when I cold boot again I go through the whole 2-5 restart process again.
I ran memtest86 and memtest 3.7 and both say I have memory errors when vista is screwed up but when everything's working perfectly fine those programs show the memory as being perfectly fine. There are no errors shown when running the memtests for over 40 hours on the "working" restart.
I would think if it were a RAM issue then there would ALWAYS be errors. However since it's intermitent I believe it's Vista causing the issue and maybe I need to reinstall vista. What do you guys think?
Edit: On added note I have SP1 installed. Would that be a possible cause?
